International Students

International Welcome Week

20th-27th September

The CU will be welcoming International students at the airport when they arrive and will help them to settle in to their accommodation. There will also be evening events, day tours of the city, a Welcome Tent outside the Union and a chance to share a meal at someone’s home! As a Christian Union we want to offer friendship and the chance to hear what Christians believe.

Here is the run down of International Welcome Week:

MONDAY 20TH
-3PM Volunteer info session from Uni
-4PM CU Prep then meal and games together in Chaplaincy

From here on everyday we will be
-Meeting people from the airport (in slots from 9am-8pm)
-Doing guided tours of the city (11.30am-1)

and then also the following events in the evenings from 7-9pm:

TUES 21st
-Trip to the Tyne

WEDS 22nd
- Party Games Night

THURS 23rd
- Magic show!! By a Christian Magician

FRI 24th
- Pub Quiz during the day -4pm

- CU as normal in the evening???
- Union organised events.

SAT 25th
- Beach trip during day (11-5pm)
- Welcome meal at different peoples houses (7-9pm)

MON 27th

- Globe at 7.30pm

Globe (7.30-10pm)

The Globe Café Every Monday 7.30-10pm in Jesmond Parish Church (opposite Jesmond Metro)

A lively cafe with a delicious (and cheap) meal allowing International students to have fun with different themed evenings. This is also an opportunity to learn more about what Christians believe.
